Takhe Kot (means-the bowed Takhe) is a newer version
of Khmer bowed stringed musical instrument which has development and is now
modern than other Khmer traditional musical instruments. It was invented by Sak
Bophavann and including with the idea of H.E Hun Sarin in 2011. The original
shape of Takhe Kot is from the shape of the former Takhe but Takhe Kot is
pretty smaller than and it is a bit hollow on the body for bowing.

Takhe Kot
has four steel strings and has no frets but there is a fingerboard. The Takhe
Kot is made from a jackfruit wood with five supporting legs-four under the body
and one under the headstock. There are a Thoroni (Nut) made of bone and a Yorng
(Bridge) made of wood which for supports the strings. In order to play Takhe
Kot, we use a bows as the same as of that of Tro Khmer too.
